      When you authenticate your products through this website, we collect your personal information such as your Internet Protocol address and other information that may be derived from your Internet Protocol address, including, but not limited to, your general geographic location.
      We use the information to analyze the usage of the product authentication service, diagnose problems with our server, and administer our website. Where necessary, we may also use your Personal Information to take measures to detect and prevent the distribution of counterfeit goods.
    2. b) Information collected through our report form
      We encourage reports from individuals affected by counterfeit products – anyone may submit a report to Brother through our report form. When you file a product authentication report through the report form, we collect personal information, including, but not limited to, your country and city of residence, and details of your purchase. We use the information collected for internal research and further investigation of counterfeit products.
      Where you allow us to obtain further information about your report if necessary, you may also choose to provide us additional personal information including, but not limited to, your name, your contact information, and other related information through the report form. Please note that submission of such information is optional. You can withdraw your consent anytime by sending an e-mail to us at data.protection@brother.co.jp.
  2. Sharing and storing your personal information
    Your personal information may be disclosed to Brother group companies, as well as product authentication service providers and investigation firms solely to achieve the purposes described in the above section.
    Your personal information may be stored in a server located in countries without an adequate level of protection for personal data compared to that in your country, but appropriate safeguards are put in place in accordance with applicable legal requirements to ensure that your data is adequately protected.
    We only keep your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose we collect it for, including reporting or legal requirements.
